Volunteer Work with Kids

There are many organizations offering volunteer work with kids all over the world. You did not mention where specifically you wanted to volunteer so I put together a general list.

Amurtel - Charity based in India that runs children’s homes in Ghana, Kenya, Congo and South Africa. Women volunteers work 2, 3 or 6 months. Simple vegetarian food and accommodations provided; volunteers contribute $250 for short stays of 2-3 months and $400 for longer stays.

Catholic Medical Mission Board - I'm not sure if you are Catholic, but Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) is the a U.S.-based Catholic-charity focusing exclusively on global healthcare, particularly the well-being of women and children. CMMB has many opportunities with kids.

Casa Guatemala - An orphanage in Guatemala which offers volunteer work with kids (all 250 of them) at their orphanage.

Casa Alianza - A nonprofit serving homeless children and youth in Central America. Offers volunteer work with kids.

Genesis Voluntary Teaching Program - Seeking volunteers to teach English to children in Ecuador coast.

Global Children Organization – Nurtures children traumatized by intolerance, terrorism, or war by providing summer camps and on-going programs which prepare both children and volunteers to be active participants in building a peaceful world.

King's Children's Home - A private, non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping and providing residential care for children in difficult circumstances regardless of their social status, culture, race or religious belief. Offers cheap volunteer work with kids.

Kids' Ark - Provides a place of refuge for children of East Timor who have been homeless, orphaned, traumatized, neglected and emotionally damaged.

Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos - Cares for orphaned and abandoned children in Latin America and the Caribbean since 1954. Works in Mexico, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Dominican, Peru, and Bolivia. Offers volunteer work with kids.

Orphanage Outreach – Orphanage Outreach works to involve individuals and organization to make a difference by providing opportunities for volunteer work with kids.
